Dreamweaver for a beginner is really easy to use, but - you won't make a normal page, until you won't understand the web scripting basics, HTML and CSS Codes. Cause Dreamweaver...well you can use it for changing colors for some stolen skin or smthn like that - But when you try to make a page with div tags...well - Dreamweaver just doesn't make a correct code. So the only way to make a dreamweaver without knowledge is to do it with tables, which isn't really going to make your site look good. So If you're not a pirate, and you won't use pirated version, and you're considering buying dreamweaver. Well - Don't, if you aren't sure that you will learn XHTML & CSS.

P.S. When I Was using DW I Thought it was cool, when I Learned XHTML & CSS I don't really need dreamweaver at all. So - Dreamweaver isn't the magical program - It's best of them, but still - It can't replace brainpower...

I agree with NTW hands down, I started learning back when Frontpage was popular, was it ever really popular? lol Learn to 'freehand' it, you wont be restricted to what the programs can do with limited knowledge, if that makes sense. Sigh, I've become addicted however to Notepad++.......... LOL

The easiest websitebuilder that i've encountered is Geocities builder. Its really easy to use, no coding necessary plus if you want to make a simple you can make it anyway you want it no restrictions.

Geocities is the best free program for beginners you just log in and let your imagination run smile.gif

mario was right, geocities page builder is the easiest.. but you'll have a bit of problem when people viewing it with different browsers and different font size.. the layout, the table and everything will get messed up..
but it is always good to start with the page builder first.. then slowly move on to frontpage and dreamweaver...
for an advanced user, u will soon realise that frontpage or dreamweaver is not really the ultimate tool to create a perfect website as to what you have in mind..
so, thats when u need ur html, css, xhtml knowledge and all...

Dreamweaver for an advanced WYSIWYG or KompoZer as a free alternative. Both have clean code for WYSIWYG standards.
