So you created a new database, and now you can't seem to login to phpMyAdmin.
Note: The login to phpMyAdmin is NOT your InstantFreeHosting login details. Extra Notes: Each MySQL Database you create NEEDS a database user with privileges to access your new database. That's just how it works in MySQL. The phpMyAdmin setup here needs your database user and password details. Solution: 1. Create your database in the MySQL Setup page. For this example we'll call it mydatabase. 2. Create a database user and give it a password. This option is also on the same page. We'll call it mydatabaseuser, with a password of thisiscool. 3. Assign database privileges for mydatabaseuser to mydatabase. Also found on the same screen. Now you've got what you need to login to phpMyAdmin. One more thing to note: If you own say, mycoolname.instantfreehosting.com, and you created the database and user above then: Your actual phpMyAdmin login name is: mycoolname_mydatabaseuser Your phpMyAdmin password is: thisiscool Go try it out! Unrelated note: You can either assign privileges for the same database user to multiple databases and see all the databases under phpMyAdmin at once, or create a different database user for each different database and only see one database at a time in phpMyAdmin, each with a different login. Up to you.

So you want to add on an entirely different website to your free hosting. Right?
What you CAN do inside your free hosting account is add more domains so that your myusername.instantfreehosting.com/hello-there.php can show up as www.mydomainname.com/hello-there.php. You cannot currently add an "extra domain" into one hosting account for use with ANOTHER website. This is a limitation we are working on fixing at some time in the future. However what you can do, and what we currently allow (that means it won't be allowed sometime in the future), is to create a SECOND web hosting account, which you can then use for another website. You are allowed a MAXIMUM of THREE free hosting accounts. Warning: You must use the same email address with all three when signing up. We have code to detect people cheating, using a different computer, different email addresses etc, to create many free hosting accounts. You will be banned at all your email addresses + IP addresses for life if you break this rule. Don't do it! Have a question? Create a new thread here for it.

We renamed from TFCPH.com to InstantFreeHosting.com in January 2009 to make it clearer we offered free hosting as a sub set of what we do.
We were also previously using a post-to-host system (e.g. write 30 forum posts and get your free hosting) with TFCPH.com but converted to a Get-Free Hosting-Instantly system with InstantFreeHosting.com. This is the main difference and what the mysterious "TFCPH" was.

Everyone with a TFCPH Hosting account was sent an email detailing how to move their site across to the new platform.
What wasn't mentioned was, for those that want to have their xxxxx.tfcph.com forwarded to there new address InstantFreeHosting.com address, please PM me exactly where to forward your old sub domain to. Create your InstantFreeHosting.com account and then PM me what it is - this is ONLY if you have a lot of links on the Internet to your old TFCPH sub domain, or a lot of people will only know of your site via your old TFCPH sub domain. If you don't care, then ignore this.

We have some exciting changes happening at TFCPH!
Over the next 2-8 weeks TFCPH will be migrating to a new server and will run under a much more "obvious" name. While The Free cPanel Host (TFCPH) abbreviation makes sense when you know what it is, to every other person on the planet it looks like a mangulation of letters (no, mangulation is not a word... maybe). Besides the obvious TFCPH name change (revealed later), we are moving to a hosting architecture that can support much more hosting users than the current cPanel setup. While cPanel is probably the best web hosting control panel on the market, it is also the greediest when it comes to system resources and is reknown for its gluttony (kind of like a fatty sumo wrestler that doesn't want to share his cake) Example: If a server can run 100 cPanel hosting accounts (TFCPH currently runs about 300), a non cPanel server would run 1000. Quite a big gap in performance. All TFCPH Users that currently have an xxxxx.tfcph.com sub domain name, will keep it. The second reason for the change (besides allowing more users per server), is we are also fundamentally changing how new users obtain their web hosting accounts. The current "post to host" method has worked but has generally been confusing for new users who are not greatly familiar with free hosting or forums. GrandForums.com will continue to be tightly integrated to free hosting and will continue to be mentioned in our free hosting service, but not in a "post to host" way. It may in future come back to this, but for the time being, hosting will be available to all by simply signing up through a web page. All current TFCPH hosting users had an email sent to them to explain how to migrate over. If you did not get this email and are currently hosted with the TFCPH (as of 19 Nov 08), PM me with your TFCPH user name. We project to start having people's accounts created at our new server (with your currently used domain/sub domain name) by the end of this month. We will keep current TFCPH websites working until the end of December 2008. |
