I was able to send mail through php on my site, but now it doesn't seem to work- any news?

It's working.

However watch out for hotmail.com addresses, hotmail is notorious for blocking good emails, even before it reaches the spam box.

Spammers hit hotmail hard so there spam filters are overly-agressive. Try use your ISP email address for testing.
