I wanted to know if you judge people on a specific factor such as religion or race or sexual preference (or any of above) and if so why? I mean I certainly don't or at least try to avoid it, but because of my religion I was going to be beaten to a bloodied pulp, I am also discriminated because of my vocabulary at school since it is full of ignorant people (They don't even know what irrational means!). Anyway discuss why you do or do not discriminate. I do not because everyone deserves a chance to be known.

Starting off, I must point out the fact that you have an obvious spelling error. "Judgement" is what I'm assuming you wanted.

As for Judging, this term has undergone some mis-definition. As used in the Bible, "judge not, lest ye yourself be judged," was taken to mean interpretating others' appearances as to who they are. This is false, as what "judge" here means is as a judge would do in a court merely applied to the Heaven/Hell thing. It is not up to us to judge the actions of our fellow man, only to see the flaws and help them correct themselves.

Going back to the intended subject, yes, I "judge" people. Why? Because I've yet to be wrong. Plain and simple. I, however, tolerate most other views/walks of life as long as they don't provide active confrontation ("making something of it").

Sorry for my typo, geeze man. lol yes I do see your point. So then from your judgment (FireFox spell check) what am I? Who am I and what can you tell from my posts? Is it easier to judge in person (as I assume it is) or do you still judge over the net?

When you talk to someone online, you learn their personality directly. It's the first thing you learn about them (unless you're on myspace or facebook or something of the sort). The whole point of "judging" people is to find out their personality before you talk to them. So, yes, it is easier to judge people by actually seeing them.

Everyone judges everyone, its just how smart are you about going about it. I think everyone judges, its just a matter of the person's tolerance and intelligence and self-understanding that they simply do not know all the facts and can not judge correctly, so therefore should not be handing down heavy sentences in their mind of so and so person.

However open-minded assumption is judging to a degree, and something I think is nessesary in life, even if you might be wrong. For example, seeing a badly dressed drunk man wobble down the street is probably reason for you not to invite him over for dinner. He could be a billionaire and the nicest person ever, but based on your experiences you would judge him "unfit". I think the thing is to allow abit of leeway in your judgement/assumptions simply because you could be wrong.

However if you see a guy with a knife you aren't going to tell him you have loads of cash in your wallet and you need a taxi somewhere - judging in action.
