There's no legitimate reason why an iPod should be allowed in schools.

well yes, but all the studets think so, especially in the UK! The students would rather not be in school. I don't think what they really want would help their education in any way. -------------------- |

Um, does it matter if they're allowed, don't you bring them to school anyway? Yes, but if caught with them they get confiscated! If they were allowed, then they could not be confiscated!!!!!!! -------------------- ![]() Leyton Reed, Here TODAY, gone TOMORROW. |

Yes, but if caught with them they get confiscated! If they were allowed, then they could not be confiscated!!!!!!! Hm, I dunno. The teachers at my school are all pretty chill, they don't confiscate my shit lol. Administrative people do though but if you get caught by them, you're just being careless. -------------------- Inanimate Objects is under construction. |

I think they should be allowed as long as the volume is low enough that only the person listening to it can hear it. It will hinder their education. This will prevent people like this from becoming people like doctors. If they do it at school, they might do it while working. I don't want my doctor listening to an iPod while she/he does stuff to me.

Don't even come to class then. -------------------- Inanimate Objects is under construction. |

I don't see why they shouldn't be. It would be pretty easy to see those white earbuds in students' ears, I suppose.

I don't see why they shouldn't be. It would be pretty easy to see those white earbuds in students' ears, I suppose. They shouldn't be allowed for the simple fact that one may store data on their iPod, and therefore use it to cheat. Not to mention the fact that listening to an iPod is assuredly distracting for you, not to mention anyone else who can hear it. Such devices do not promote learning, and may inhibit learning. Ergo, they should not be allowed in. -------------------- |

I think they should be able to do whatever they want as long as they don't distract other students or the teacher.

I dont think that Ipods should be allowed in class, but I dont really see why students couldnt have them for before and after school. If a student was caught listening to them during class, or with them even out in class, then it would be confiscated. And as for the cheating possibility: flash drives are allowed in school, and their sole purpose is information storage... Connecting an Ipod to a computer would draw a lot more attention than inserting a flash drive.
