Hi,

I hope to have GF fully moved to its new home by Monday to end the slowness over May 08.

While GF is being moved you will see big red text (after you login to your account) saying something along the lines of
GF IS MOVING.

During that time your posts wont be transferred to the new server, feel free to go nuts. No post that is made during the GF IS MOVING phase will be transfered across.

When you no longer see the big red GF IS MOVING heading (which will be on Every single page just to make sure you don't miss it tongue.gif) you are then cleared to go.

The move will probably take place on Saturday and depending on your ISP, the new GF server will be visible to your Internet provider within a few hours, or, if you are from England, up to 48 hours (seems ISP's enjoy taking ages to update over there).

This move does not affect your TFCPH hosted sites.

Ohh - so your doing a sql dump and then put the GF is moving, and then you will update the DNS - and then once the DNS updates we should see the new GF mirite? Will this stop some of the lag?

Congratulations on the new server. But, GF is kind of slow still for me? Is it because of my location? I am located currently in Canada.

Its not your location. Its slow for me too in the US. I think it's some kind of SQL or PHP issue because a ping result is very good.

It's fast again.

Apparantly there were packet loss issues with the data center.
