Most rap songs sound the same, some black dude talking in half-rhymes with a beat in the background. Okay, maybe that sounds good at first but the lyrical content as well as the music videos, which are definitely ALL the same (women/cars/money/drugs), really kill the whole point.

I really like the beats... some of the lyrics from a few of the artists are decent, but other then that... the only thing I listen to are the beats.

I agree with corey on that. Gucci Man sucks and so does Gorilla Zoe. I mean come on look at their names and their lame beats. Their lyrics especially suck.

The fact that anyone, even someone who has no prior musical training (such as myself) can make a decent rap beat shows a lot about the beat. Overall rap and hip-hop are perfect examples of American thought. You can be famous and rich and not have any real talent.
