Retouching is widely accepted, however some types of retouching is tragically encouraged...
at what point do we say no?

Amy Dresser- acceptable?

and the completely unacceptable??

Pageant photos!!

The pageant photos are widely encouraged- At what point do we start to say "hey, you're just right the way you are?" especially to younger children.

there“s way too much retouching on that little girls pic sad.gif, enhancing a photo is ok, but what has been done to that picture looks terrible!

I think re-touching is good but extremely heart breaking in some cases.
