The purpose of disktype is to detect the content format of a disk or disk image.

Install the pakage
$ sudo apt-get install disktype
coreutils: /bin/ls

How to use disktype

Analyzing a CD Image:
#sudo disktype image.iso

Analyzing the first IDE hard disk:
#sudo disktype /dev/hda

Analyzing a CD or DVE
#sudo disktype /dev/cdrom
Go to the top of the page
