maybe it is just small electric power (my comp was shutting down when my mam was turning on washing machine) , or bad hardware or viruses , damaged hard disk......

Could be a faulty power supply. If you notice any unusual smells coming from your computer, there's your problem. If you know how to remove it from your computer, Circuit City checks them for free to see if it's faulty or not. I would guess Best Buy does too...

If it's not that, I'm guessing a virus, although I have not heard of one that does that.

I'm going to have to go with Forte on this one in that it could be a power supply issue. The power supply could be faulty or it does not generate enough wattage to actually handle all of the devices connected to it or it's starting to overheat and as a precautionary measure it shuts your computer off or restarts it. If your computer is hooked up to a surge protector, check to see that the protector itself is not damaged.

What version of windows do you have, and what is the make / model of your PC?

Two more things you might look at are:
- The system event log (assuming you have a version of Windows that features it). In certain circumstances windows may shut down if a system error triggers it.
- Overheating in your computer. If a computer overheats, one of the symptoms is shutting down at random times. Here is one software program that can look for heat problems:

Here is a guide on opening the PC case: http://www.helpwithpcs.com/upgrading/remove-case-covers.htm - be sure to take all necessary precautions when working with the inside of a PC.

it's dons't looks to be a power problem. it could be a virus or virus-like activity.

if you gets a message that your system is scheduled for a shutdown, then it's a virus activity, and stopping the Winlog service would help. smile.gif

My guess would be a virus. If you can, I'd reinstall windows (back up your important files smile.gif)
Other than that, I haven't a clue smile.gif
