It's the flavor of the month book. A friend read it and told 8 people who told 20 etc etc. I personally dont think its all that good, the movie was terrible too.

There are several things wrong with this sentence, instead of going on and on and writing a page by page rebuttle of your comments, let me tell you this.

In the horror genre, there are countless books (novels and short stories) that deal with vampires, I'm SURE there is a story that contains a vampire which does not drink human blood for some ethical reason.

"falling in love with an ordinary girl" - many vampire stories are based on a vampire falling in love with a women, and turning her into a vampire because he can't live without her, the subtle twist that S.M. put on to it turned it into a pulp fiction book which is better as firewood than as of a normal book.

Read some good horror, fantasy or Science Fiction.
