People are always discussing the point, or the meaning of life, but does anyone believe there acutally is a purpose to life?

That is not the meaning, that's just the ultimate awnser to life the universe and everything.

There isn't one - it's pointless evolution.

Yeah thats a good answer.
Well you could find meaning in everything you do, for example i find meaning in helping out others, and myself in the process, and learning new stuff. But i think that i could find meaning even without that, i am a simple man, everything astonishes me, even a childish thing that i forgot, rediscovering them is fascinating to me, and that's it. I haven't even scratched the all that having a girlfriend part cause i haven't had one yet sad.gif , but it seems to me that if you find the right one she will be a great meaning of life, cause you automatically have purpose, to protect her, take care of here and so on. Don't get me started on family's and so on.
These things that i have listed here probably aren't the ultimate purposes of life (maybe to some) but they can be used to distract a person from going in to deep thinking about purpose of life, for me that would be enough.

That's really cool. Don't delve too deep as to why we are here (universe-wise) and stay here on Earth - worry about what you can comprehend.

But if you are asking about the in general why does life exist then the answer is: "Cause God wanted it that way."

No matter what we do, no matter how we look at it, we live just to die. If God exists, then the good part comes after death. If Evolution is true, then this sorry excuse for existance is all we have. It is due to this that I say, No, there is no purpose to life.

1. God can exist and evolution can still be true
2. You really need to get a better outlook on life - all your posts here seem to be "life sucks, and if God exists then I'll be happier when I cop it"

I'm actually very happy with life, whether you think God exists or not. The living of life is not the best thing ever, is all I'm saying. In a place where there's no pain, no tears, no hate, no sickness, no death, and eternal bliss (aka "Heaven"), this life we're living now isn't that great looking.

"The purpose of life is a life of purpose" -Google for the author
Lol, I used that quote in my speech.
Anyways, i don't think life has a purpose. We're just here. It's something pointless to think about because it doesn't change anything.

It all depends on your outlook at life:
If you have a negative outlook, then life would be pointless and purposeless. If you had a positive outlook on life, then I am sure that, depending on the person, you could find some purpose in your life, even if it was only your job or to watch TV every Friday night.

i think life is to do something good and have a good time if you don't like life whats the point in having it. and what is being dead like it depends on your beliefs. i believe that you get reborn and cant remember a thing about your old life but that could also mean life is a dream and it is a really big one. no one else could exist and the only person alive is me and no one else exists. but i am talking to you and if it was a dream what would be the point in me writing all of this.

Actually, I don't really know, but my opinion is yes, but then again, if I think about it closely, it's probably a no.
Life is what you want to be it, I believe in God, but not everyone does, so I'm not putting the point there.

Really, if people just put it the way: We live, then we die; then yes, it is pointless; but we just don't live, then die, right?
I mean, think about it. We can discover new things that many people find interesting, look for new ideas, and do a whole lot.
Hey, if we did this, life would be worth it even if our lives meant nothing, right?

*Yes, I'm pretty clear this post is something you can't really.. explain.
