Ok mates. I´ve got a Toshiba Satellite 1410 (Celeron Mobile and 256 RAM) and need to use a small and light Linux Distro for full speed adfvantage. This laptop has a Win XP licence, but I don´t like the Billy´s OS. I install Ubuntu but works so slowly. Any body gime a solution?

I'm running open SUSE 11.0 on my old satalite pro, no probs. If you want something small, try Xubuntu, (http://xubuntu.org/) - it uses XFCE as it's desktop - which is, i'm afraid a varient of GNOME (KDE needs more porcessor) - but it runs smoothly.

I have an IBM 760L, and d*mn small linux worked well on it for a while, however it was doomed to eventually crash altogether
