I say yes. Why waste a country's resources jailing mass murderers etc?

I wouldn't agree on capital punishment because of the cost while the is a hot button issue and both side disagree and screw up the numbers but in the end those that do have capital punishment like california it costs more. Few of those that are condemned are ever executed because those that are condemned appeal over and over again and has a more extensive jury selection procedure, a four fold increase in the number of motions filed, a longer, dual trial process, more investigators and expert testimony, more lawyers specializing in death penalty litigation, automatic, mandatory appeals make it much more simple to just have life in prison without parole. |

It's not about wasting country's resources... it's the fact that these monstrous people who are evil enough to kill/rape people pretty much are off the hook when it comes to prison.
Prison - Shelter, bed, exercise, plumbing, food, even in some cases boring TV, all for free. Seriously, think about it. Also... what if the accused is homeless? Isn't prison like a gift to them? Okay, you guys are gonna say OOH PRISON RAPE/VIOLENCE. Yeah, it's not as common as you think it is. As long as the people don't go messing with anyone else, they have an easy life in jail. -------------------- Inanimate Objects is under construction. |

hhmm yes and no...
Well, life is important.. yea they might have murdered somebody but wouldn't the people in a way would have killed him to if they vote to legalize death penalty.. they minght not be the person pushing the syringe but they're behind it? I would say just put them in a special camp.. really strict though.. they would have to get their own food prepare it etc.. not give them cable and feed them 3 times a day, a war bed, recess and whatever criminals get.. I am not up for just killing a human being.. lock them up for life and in straight jacket.... or something.... -------------------- |

I think over the course of their life, years and years, they cost more to keep than the lawyer fees for however long. -------------------- The Free cPanel Host and GrandForums Main Administrator. The actual ease of prison life have been mentioned already. The horror stories have some truth, but the good is never interesting, so it's always the bad that's reported.
As for death penalty..."For the wages of sin is death." That sums it up from a religious point of view. And it says a few more times in there about "eye for an eye" kinds of stuff. But what gives one human the right to kill another human? Good question, why don't you ask the convict? I say that it should be a 3 appeal max, and then you get sent to the guillotine. Why that form of execution? It's quick, reusable, and simple. -------------------- |

Depends on which style you use. If you use the "snap-the-neck" method, it's all good. If you use the "choke until you die," then that's not going to go over well with the humanitarians.

Well, I don't think they use the choke until you die method in the U.S. -------------------- Inanimate Objects is under construction. |
