Everyone knows that the programmers are trying to make OO similar to MSOffice, but don't you think that will breach the copyright or patent right thing? Simple word means "copycat"?

I still prefer MS Office anyway...

Me too... Office is great thing! It has everything I need for document writing/editing. Word and Excel are all I need!

Two words:

open-source.

Or one, if you count hyphenated words as one. Or is it a dash ... I forget.

Good thing that mentality doesn't hinder anyone from Firefox tongue.gif

I've never heard of OpenOffice. I'm guessing it's an open source version of MS Office for people who don't have the funds/don't want to spend that much for it? Sounds like a good idea, seeing as how normally those end up better than the original thing... sometimes.

OpenOffice is the only only application when you want to edit a doc file when you do not have money. Please notice that not everyone has so much money to buy MS Office. In a lot of countries, buying one MS Office pack for only one PC takes the money of two months' salary.

Hey, OpenOffice is better in my books for the following reasons:
*Free
*Not a Virus
*Dosent have the other rubbish that MSOffice has that nobody uses!
*Almost Identical to MSOffice

I definatly prefer OpenOffice.

MSworks isn't free - it probably came with your PC - same with ofice, it comes with a PC, I'm using (and loving) open office - it's identical to word in almost every regard - the new UI on word is a pain (have it on my Vista PC) - i'll stick with OOO.

MS Office came with my PC and I installed it on my new laptop too. I just love it. Annoying paperclip aside, I wouldn't use anything else.
