So... Yeah. In my case, I use them for trying out games. <:

I really hate it when I spend money on a horribly stupid/boring game. XD

It also helps me to choose which games I want and expand my wishlist. 8D

I use them for older systems that are hard to come by, the only reason i don't 'steal' new ones is because there is no good emulator yet.

I use mine for either old games, games I already own yet want to record, or Japan only games. Lately I've been ripping music from Mother 3. Kind of a service for the Mother fan community.

There's probably only 3 reasons to use an emulator:
1. Try out a game before buying it.
2. Play a game too old to be sold.
3. Play a game that you can buy, but are too cheap.

emulate is another word for 'simulate'

Emulators can simulate the games console/arcade machine on your pc !!

I use them for old games like everyone else said. xD But I don't have much money so I'd use the new emulators if my pc was fast enough and they worked better.

Ditto the above (or some).

I generally play games that are quite hard to come by, or testing my PS2 games on the relatively new developing PS2 emulator (it's not even up to the first full version if I remember correctly).
