there is not a very good ps2 emulator yet and it is very hard to play commercial games with them and you need a very fast computer to be capable on doing anything with the emulators...
PCSX2 is the oldest ps2 emulator and still the best one, but you can not do sou much with it.... http://www.pcsx2.net/ there is also list of playable games -------------------- Computer games don't affect kids; I mean if Pac-Man affected us as kids, we'd all be running around darkened rooms, munching magic pills and listening to repetitive electronic music.

I understand getting a GBA emulator, it's almost identical to the real deal but a PS2 emulator? No controller, no good games, graphical limitations, it doesn't seem worth it.

Technically a computer with enough ram and a good enough graphics card to run Warcraft can run a PS2 game. But I've never heard of people making roms of PS2 games, or a PS2 emulator.
Also, the downloading of an emulator isn't illegal. ROMs, however, are. Emulators are actually used professionally, if I recall correctly. -------------------- |

I tried finding one once. Then i realized my comp was way to slow and there wasn't a controller so in my opinion its just a big waste of time.

The computer is not strong enough to run ps2. Maybe a linux ps2 emulator may work.

You need MUCH more RAM/Processing power to run a fully 3D PS2 game at perfect frame rates on your computer. I have a Dual Core with 2.8ghz and 2GB RAM with dedicated 258MB graphics card and it can BARELY run Final Fantasy X at full FPS. |

Computers and gaming systems don't run the same way. A gaming system's only purpose is to load the game files while the computer has to go through applications and applications. I remember needing a pentium 4 to run a N64 game correctly back in the day. And those games only had like 10MB cartridges. My computer can barely run a PSX game I doubt PS2 games will run anytime soon. Besides, it's better to buy the actual system and a swapdisk or something.

It is most surely not optimized and have a bad coding. ANyways most of the time, the emulator is pretty heavy by itself that's why you need a solid pc for them. |
