Actually, what is a distro? I'm sorry for not knowing...

A Linux distribution[1] is a version of a Unix-like operating system comprised of the Linux kernel, all or part of the GNU operating system, and assorted other software. Linux distributions take a variety of forms, from fully-featured desktop and server operating systems to minimal environments (typically for use in embedded systems, or for booting from a floppy).

I like Ubuntu , i ordered about 40 cds for free smile.gif

Oh, thanks for the smart reply, Admin. smile.gif Ubuntu also sent me free CDs, four of them, but it's not the latest version. I haven't tried it yet coz I'm still researching if I can somehow have both Windows and Ubuntu and do a dual boot...

Ya! It's relatively easy. If you want to try Ubuntu, just put one of the CDs into your computer and restart it. It will most likely load Ubuntu without it touching your computer! Tutorial (just ignore the part about Vista): http://www.hevnikov.com/blog/2006/11/13/tr...le-boot-screen/

Lets see, I started with RedHat, then moved to Slackware. Got tired of Linux and moved to Sun Solaris and came down to FreeBSD and then moved to NetBSD when FreeBSD first released 5.x technology. Returned back to Solaris when Sun released Open Solaris but I didnt stay long since I dont have it in me already and I returned to FreeBSD once they came with 6.x technology and NetBSD being idle for too long. Skip reading if you're blur already *LOL*

Quite an experience with computer operating systems you got there. You mean, you never tried Windows? Even 95?
